In June 2016, we launched a card/letter program called “Words of Hope” where people can sign up to send cards/letters to children between the ages of 2-16 with a life-threatening or chronic illness. Families can also sign their child up to receive cards/letters.
Individuals can choose to send cards to a child/children every month or a special occasion (pen-pal) where they send to children going through an extra difficult time (e.g. recently received surgery, had a treatment/procedure, or simply need extra love).
To sign up to have your child/children receive cards/letters every month or on a special-occasion (pen-pal) basis,(You must have an FB account, have a child/children ages 2-16 (developmentally) with a life-threatening and chronic illness , have a Facebook page, Caringbridge page or website for your child, your child must live in your home full-time and post your pictures by end of the month if your child is receiving cards every month, please fill out this form below.
*Once you fill out this form, please email us at email@example.com a recent picture of your child/children.
We will then send you an electronic permission form via email to fill out giving us permission to share your child’s picture, child’s interests, child’s allergies, child’s birthday and social media page link in our closed Facebook group (anyone can find the group and who is in it, but only members can see posts), so our card senders and families can get to know your child and so the card senders can be tagged with the child or children they will be sending to. Our group is closed, so only members can see posts.
*Once we receive all the information and accept your child/children into our program (We will send you a formal email!), please join our Facebook card group by clicking here.
**It may take awhile before we set your child/children up with a sponsor depending on how many monthly card/letter sponsors and pen-pal (special occasion) sponsors sign up.
*** Due to how many sick children to send to, we are unable to accept siblings to our card program at this time.
