May is Celiac Awareness Month. Celiac Disease is “a serious autoimmune disorder that can occur in genetically predisposed people where the ingestion of gluten leads to damage in the small intestine.” (Source: Celiac Disease Foundation)

Since we focus on children battling life-threatening and chronic illnesses, we want to show how children are affected by Celiac Disease.

Celiac Disease affects all ages and symptoms are different in children than adults. Also, everyone is affected with Celiac Disease differently. If you suspect you or your child has Celiacs, please consult your doctor.

If you are affected by Celiac Disease and want to share your story with us, feel free to contact us under the “Contact Us” page tab. We would love to hear from you!

We post new blogs every Monday at 8 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST), so be sure to follow our blog for updates. To see new and old posts, go to the “Must Read” page tab. You can also go search under archives.
