Since today marks the 2nd to last day in 2016, let us reflect on all that we’ve accomplished this year.
This year was another exciting year for us. Here are some highlights:
January – We hosted an online party to celebrate 4 years of our Facebook page where we asked our supporters to share their favorite memory of Hope Alive Ministry, share their favorite part about Hope Alive Ministry, share suggestions they had for us to improve Hope Alive Ministry, ask questions about Hope Alive Ministry, and give words of encouragement for families going through a rough time.
February – We released a Leukodystrophy Awareness Slideshow. We also hosted our 3rd annual Rare Disease Day online event on our Facebook page on February 29, 2016 – Rare Disease Day. We released a Rare Disease slideshow as well. We created a new email address too.
April – We released a survey for supporters to fill out giving us feedback. We also released our “Hope Alive Ministry Champions” FB closed group for people to find out exclusive content, offer us feedback, find out ways to volunteer, and more. Our Founder, Bayley Paharik, attended Tori Brackbill’s Celebration of Life service.
June – We announced our “Word of Hope” card/letter program. We launched our first t-shirt fundraiser.
August – We announced our plans on becoming a non-profit organization.
September – We released our Leukodystrophy slideshow that we updated from our February one. Days later, we posted an updated one since one of the children passed away a few days after we made the original. We had another t-shirt sale. We released our logo as well. We also made a new YouTube channel.
December – We updated our blog design. We also sent 201 Christmas cards to Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, FL, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and Family House in Pittsburgh (an organization similar to Ronald McDonald House) on December 16, 2016. We announced our plan for an art supply drive where we will be collecting NEW art supplies for the Child Life Department at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to celebrate the 5th year anniversary of our Facebook page on January 9, 2017.
In 2017, we have more events planned and other exciting announcements.
