We have not posted since September 24th. We apologize for that. We have been very busy with working on some new HAM programs, redesigning this blog as well as our non-profit status. Another reason is because our new website will have less blog articles and more informative information about HAM. We will try to post every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with a new video on our YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel to see new videos.
Some of our projects will have to wait for awhile to announce, but we can announce one. We are in need of people to make handmade Christmas cards for sick children in hospitals this Christmas. It is extremely hard to be a child in the hospital for Christmas, so these cards can bring so much joy and cheer for these children.
Here are the instructions:
1. Please avoid any religious messages per hospital policy, but you may write “Merry Christmas!” on your cards.
2. Please avoid anything about sickness such as “I’m so sorry you are sick.” or “Get well soon.” A lot of these children have terminal illnesses and they want a card to cheer them up.
3. Keep the messages positive and hope filled!
You may sign the cards:
(Your 1st name) from Hope Alive Ministry
Be creative! You may use stickers, but please use Christmas stickers and you may use a variety of stickers as the cards will go to little kids all the way up to teens!
Please incude your name on the envelope, so we know who to thank for the cards and put Hope Alive Ministry somewhere on the envelope.
*You may use any paper you have, but we prefer cardstock since it’s better for mailing.
The cards will be sent to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Family House Pittsburgh (an organization similar to Ronald McDonald House) and Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, FL.
If you are interested in participating in this project, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get the address to send the cards to. Our Founder, Bayley Paharik, will receive and then mail out all the cards.
These cards will be added in with the 130 cards we made on November 5 (Album with the cards will be posted on Wednesday!). We will post updates throughout with the total as well as a final total of the cards once we receive all of the cards.
The deadline to send cards is Monday, December 13.
Thank you for all your help!
We will be posting more often, so please be sure to share our blog with your friends. We support families facing life-threatening illnesses and have lots of plans in the works. We might be doing an art supply, toy, & book drive in the near future, so stay tuned for details.
We appreciate your support even in our absence!
